Contract:                 MC Lecturer, Full time, Permanent

Hours:                       37 per week

Teaching Hours:    864 per annum

Annual Leave:         45 per annum plus statutory Bank Holidays

Pension:                 Teachers’ Pension Scheme

About the role  

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as an Electrical Lecturer. To plan and deliver a wide range of challenging, relevant learning and work experiences that ensure all learners can develop and apply the skills, knowledge, behaviours, and attitudes required for the 21st Century learning, life and work.

 

The successful candidate will:  

  • Must hold a level 3 Electrical Engineering or Installation qualification, along with the following- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification and Testing and Inspection of Electrical Systems qualification.
  • Achievement of or working towards a recognised teaching qualification.
  • Must have competent industrial experience in an electrical based working environment.
  • Desirable – Current knowledge and / or experience of teaching in one or more fields of Electrical Installations.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • 2391 Testing and Inspection qualification.
  • Evidence of disseminating good practice effectively.
  • The ability to deal promptly and effectively with inappropriate behaviour in the classroom.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to prepare written and visual teaching materials including the effective use of Information Learning Technology, eg Virtual Learning Environment, Power-Point supported by key software.
  • Technically competent in relevant skill discipline.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to identify and articulate business opportunities.
