About the role  

The role is full time (37 hours), Permanent  

The ideal candidate will have a vocational background in Health and Social Care, with a proven track record for curriculum design and innovation. Experience of working with employers to enhance and inform the curriculum. Experience of managing a large curriculum area and driving improvements is essential. Enthusiastic, motivating and inspiring are key attributes we are looking for in the successful candidate.

To lead the planning, monitoring and delivery of a dynamic responsive curriculum.  To ensure academic staff plan and deliver a wide range of challenging, relevant learning and work experiences that ensure all learners can develop and apply the skills, knowledge, behaviours and attitudes required for the 21st Century learning, life and work.

 

The successful candidate will:  

 

  • Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Qualified teacher with substantial and successful teaching experience.
  • Grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • Proven CPD.
  • A commitment to undertake any mandatory training relevant to the role.
  • Management qualification – Desirable.
  • Assessor/Internal Verification qualifications – Desirable.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate staff through periods of change.
  • High level of IT competency.
  • Report writing skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail of data.
  • Ability to analyse data and management information and implement improvement strategies.
  • Proven ability to manage with clarity and purpose.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other agencies, both internal and external.
  • Knowledge of current issues facing the sector and the Directorate.
  • Sound knowledge of quality assurance in the FE sector.
