Salary:              Management Salary Scale from Pt 4 – Pt 10 £40,486 -                                                  £47,609 per annum, subject to a progression criteria

Contract:         MC Management, Full time, Permanent

Hours:              37 per week

Pension:          Teachers’ Pension or Teesside Pension Scheme

About the role  

The role is full time (37 hours), Permanent  

To develop and implement a strong teaching, learning and assessment strategy across the college that is informed by current pedagogical research and evidence informed practice.

To develop and deliver research informed CPD programmes to ensure all teaching staff are appropriately trained and qualified and to ensure a culture of continuous development, reflection, mentoring and sharing of good practice is in place.

To ensure a coordinated method of assuring the quality of teaching, learning and assessment is in place across college – including appropriate mechanisms for performance management.

To provide CMT and Governors with regular progress updates against Key Performance Measures.

To be responsible for ensuring Teaching, Learning & Assessment and e-learning resources are delivered to the highest possible quality standards.

To be actively involved in the attainment of objectives contained within the College’s Strategic Plan, in particular the ambition to become an outstanding provider of education and training.

 

The successful candidate will:  

  • Qualified teacher with substantial and successful teaching experience.
  • To hold a good honours degree at Masters level in Education.
  • Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills status (QTLS) or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (or willing to work towards)
  • GCSEs at Grade C / Level 4 or above in English and Maths, or equivalent.
  • Management qualification – DesirableMembership of a professional body – desirable.
  • Successful teaching experience.
  • Successful experience of academic leadership in an educational setting.
  • Successful experience of ensuring compliance with quality assurance processes.
  • Proven track record of innovation.
  • Experience of financial management – desirable.
  • Experience of leading a team during Ofsted inspections – desirable
  • Knowledge of current issues facing the FE and HE Sectors.
  • An in-depth knowledge of Initial Teacher Education provision and framework.
  • An understanding of the ITT Core Content Framework
  • An in-depth understanding of research/innovation and scholarly activity.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate and disseminate complex and conceptual ideas in a variety of ways.
  • Ability to lead and contribute to the development of teams to ensure effective and productive working relationships.
  • Ability to pro-actively lead and motivate staff through periods of change.
  • High level of IT competency.
  • Report writing skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail of data.
  • Proven ability to manage with clarity and purpose.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other agencies, both internal and external.
  • Ability to plan workloads and projects and manage resources effectively.
  • Ability to risk assess and implement policy/strategy in relation to Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety and Quality Standards.
  • Knowledge of Office for Students regulations – desirable
