Salary: £28,419 - £41,874 per annum *subject to progression criteria*  

Annual Leave: 45 days per annum plus bank holidays

Contractual hours: 37 hours per week

Teaching hours: 864 hours per annum

Basis: Full time

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Teacher of Psychology and Health and Social Care (sixth form) to join our A-Levels team.  This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the next generation of Psychology and Health and Social Care professionals while playing a key role in a thriving academic community.

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Teacher of Psychology and Health and Social Care (sixth form) you will:

  • Deliver and manage high-quality, inclusive teaching, learning, and assessment in Psychology and Health and Social Care within the Psychology and Health and Social Care sector.
  • Provide hands-on and theoretical instruction in specific areas, e.g., Psychology and Health and Social Care
  • Support students' academic and personal growth, helping them achieve their full potential.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that connect classroom learning to real-world applications.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the learning experience and address the needs of all students.
  • Support student recruitment, retention, achievement, and progression, providing guidance and tailored support.

 

What We’re Looking For:

We seek candidates who:

  • Have relevant experience of teaching Level 3 Psychology and Health and Social Care
  • Is a qualified Teacher or willing to work towards**
  • Hold GCSEs at Grade C / Level 4 or above in English and Maths, or equivalent.
  • Have current knowledge of IAG relating to career opportunities in associated areas for post-16 learners and current HE progression routes.
  • Have current knowledge of the Ofsted EIF, and the impact of this on classroom delivery.
  • Have knowledge of the range of courses offered in Post 16 education that are progression routes for students studying in this area.

*The Lecturer Salary Scale is from Pt 5 – Pt 16. The salary progression criteria beyond point 11 of the Lecturer scale will be based on you achieving and maintaining, on an annual basis, the Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) & QTS. To progress beyond point 14 of the Lecturer salary scale, you will be expected to achieve and maintain the Advanced Teacher Status (ATS).
